Low cost insurance quotes online

Shopping for lower insurance rates can be exhausting if you don’t know the best way to get rate quotes. You can waste a few hours (or days) discussing policy coverages with agents in your area, or you can stay home and use the internet to maximize your effort.

Most of the best insurance companies belong to a marketplace that allows shoppers to only type in their quote data once, and each company returns a rated price based on that data. This eliminates the need for quote forms for each company you want a rate for. To find out how much you can save on insurance click to open in new window.

The one disadvantage to doing it this way is buyers cannot specifically choose which companies to get quotes from. So if you prefer to pick from a list of companies to compare rates, we put together a list of the cheapest insurance companies in your area. Click here to view list.

Compare rates however you want, just compare exactly the same coverage limits and deductibles for each price quote. If your comparisons have different data it’s not possible to determine the lowest rate for your Audi A8.

Drivers who switch save $421 a year? Really?

Consumers can’t get away from all the ads that promise big savings for switching by 21st Century, Allstate and State Farm. All the companies state the claim that drivers will save a bundle after switching your coverage.

How does every insurance coverage company save you money?

Companies require specific criteria for the type of customer that makes them money. For instance, a profitable risk profile may be over the age of 50, has a clear driving record, and the vehicle is rated for pleasure use. Anybody who matches that profile will most likely get cheap prices and have a good chance to save money with a new company.

Drivers who do not fit those standards will have to pay a higher rate which results in the customer buying from someone else. Company advertisements say “drivers who switch” not “everyone that quotes” will save that much if they switch. That’s the way insurance companies can make claims like that. Because every company is different, it’s extremely important to get as many free car insurance quotes as possible. It’s impossible to know which insurance coverage company will give you the biggest savings.

Take policy discounts and save

Some insurers don’t necessarily list all possible discounts in an easy-to-find place, so the below list has both the well known as well as the least known discounts that may be available. If they aren’t giving you every credit you qualify for, you could be getting lower rates.

  • Accident Free – Drivers with accident-free driving histories can save substantially in comparison to insureds who have frequent claims or accidents.
  • ABS Brakes – Vehicles with anti-lock braking systems prevent accidents so you can save 10 percent or more.
  • Government Employees – Having worked for a branch of the government may qualify for a discount when you quote car insurance on A8 insurance with some car insurance companies.
  • Student Discount for Driver Training – Make teen driver coverage more affordable by requiring them to sucessfully take a drivers education course in high school.
  • Save over 55 – Mature drivers may qualify for a small decrease in premiums on A8 insurance.
  • Paper-free Discount – Many larger companies will discount your bill up to fifty bucks just for signing your application on their website.
  • Homeowners Savings – Just owning your own home may trigger a policy discount on car insurance since owning and maintaining a home requires personal responsibility.

One thing to note about discounts is that most discounts do not apply to the overall cost of the policy. Most only apply to individual premiums such as physical damage coverage or medical payments. Despite the fact that it seems like adding up those discounts means a free policy, companies don’t profit that way.

The best car insurance companies and their offered discounts are included below.

  • American Family discounts include accident-free, early bird, good driver, good student, and Steer into Savings.
  • State Farm may include discounts for passive restraint, multiple policy, Steer Clear safe driver discount, defensive driving training, Drive Safe & Save, student away at school, and multiple autos.
  • 21st Century has discounts for good student, teen driver, 55 and older, theft prevention, automatic seat belts, defensive driver, and air bags.
  • Travelers includes discounts for multi-policy, student away at school, continuous insurance, home ownership, and hybrid/electric vehicle.
  • GEICO has savings for multi-vehicle, air bags, defensive driver, anti-theft, membership and employees, and military active duty.

If you want cheaper car insurance quotes, ask every prospective company which discounts you may be entitled to. Discounts might not be offered on policies in every state.

Which policy gives me the best coverage?

When it comes to choosing the best car insurance coverage, there really is no “perfect” insurance plan. Every situation is different.

For instance, these questions could help you determine if your insurance needs could use an agent’s help.

  • Are rock chip repairs covered?
  • Why am I required to get a high-risk car insurance policy?
  • Do I have newly-aquired coverage?
  • Who is covered by my policy?
  • Does insurance cover tools stolen from my truck?
  • Do I need rental car coverage?
  • Is my cargo covered for damage or theft?
  • Is my state a no-fault state?

If it’s difficult to answer those questions but one or more may apply to you, then you may want to think about talking to a licensed agent. To find lower rates from a local agent, fill out this quick form. It only takes a few minutes and you can get the answers you need.

The coverage is in the details

Learning about specific coverages of a insurance policy can be of help when determining which coverages you need at the best deductibles and correct limits. The coverage terms in a policy can be confusing and even agents have difficulty translating policy wording.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist coverage – Your UM/UIM coverage provides protection from other motorists when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. This coverage pays for injuries sustained by your vehicle’s occupants and also any damage incurred to your Audi A8.

Since many drivers only purchase the least amount of liability that is required, it only takes a small accident to exceed their coverage. So UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked.

Medical payments coverage and PIP – Med pay and PIP coverage reimburse you for expenses for things like nursing services, prosthetic devices and X-ray expenses. The coverages can be used to fill the gap from your health insurance program or if there is no health insurance coverage. It covers both the driver and occupants and also covers any family member struck as a pedestrian. PIP is not universally available but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage

Collision coverage – Collision coverage pays for damage to your A8 caused by collision with another vehicle or an object, but not an animal. You have to pay a deductible and the rest of the damage will be paid by collision coverage.

Collision coverage protects against things like driving through your garage door, hitting a mailbox, sideswiping another vehicle and rolling your car. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so consider dropping it from vehicles that are 8 years or older. You can also raise the deductible to get cheaper collision coverage.

Comprehensive coverage – Comprehensive insurance covers damage from a wide range of events other than collision. A deductible will apply then your comprehensive coverage will pay.

Comprehensive coverage protects against claims like rock chips in glass, damage from a tornado or hurricane and hitting a bird. The most you’ll receive from a claim is the market value of your vehicle, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible consider dropping full coverage.

Liability car insurance – This coverage provides protection from damages or injuries you inflict on other’s property or people by causing an accident. This coverage protects you from legal claims by others, and does not provide coverage for damage to your own property or vehicle.

It consists of three limits, per person bodily injury, per accident bodily injury, and a property damage limit. Your policy might show values of 50/100/50 which stand for a $50,000 limit per person for injuries, a limit of $100,000 in injury protection per accident, and $50,000 of coverage for damaged propery.

Liability coverage pays for claims like pain and suffering, court costs, attorney fees and emergency aid. How much liability coverage do you need? That is up to you, but buy as large an amount as possible.

Smart shoppers get results

When trying to cut insurance costs, don’t be tempted to skimp on critical coverages to save a buck or two. In many cases, an insured cut liability limits or collision coverage and discovered at claim time that a couple dollars of savings turned into a financial nightmare. The ultimate goal is to buy a smart amount of coverage at the best possible price while still protecting your assets.

We covered a lot of information how to compare 2013 Audi A8 insurance prices online. The most important thing to understand is the more providers you compare, the better your comparison will be. Drivers may discover the lowest priced insurance coverage comes from some of the lesser-known companies.

A few companies don’t offer online rate quotes and many times these smaller providers work with independent agencies. Lower-priced insurance coverage is possible from both online companies as well as from independent agents, and you need to comparison shop both so you have a total pricing picture.
