Want lower insurance rates for your Jaguar XJ-Series? Did you make the mistake of buying high-priced insurance? It’s a common feeling and there are lots of people in the same boat. Because there are so many options when it comes to insurance, it can be impossible to pick the most cost effective insurer.

It’s a good habit to quote other rates on a regular basis because prices are constantly changing. Despite the fact that you may have had the lowest quotes on XJ-Series insurance six months ago there is a good chance you can find better rates now. Ignore everything you know about insurance because it’s time to teach you the best methods to remove unneeded coverages and save money.

Finding affordable coverage is not that difficult. If you currently have a car insurance policy, you should be able to cut costs considerably using these techniques. Drivers only need to know the most efficient way to compare price quotes online.

How to lower your insurance cost

There are a variety of methods to compare insurance prices but one way is less labor-intensive and much quicker. You could waste a few hours discussing policy coverages with insurance agencies in your area, or you can stay home and use online quoting to maximize your effort.

Most of the best insurance companies participate in a marketplace where insurance shoppers enter their coverage request one time, and every company can provide price quotes based on that information. This prevents consumers from doing quote requests to each individual insurance company.

The only downside to comparing rates this way is buyers cannot specifically choose which providers to get quotes from. If you prefer to choose specific insurance companies to compare prices, we have a page of companies who write insurance in your area. Click here for list of insurance companies.

It’s your choice how you get your quotes, but double check that you are using apples-to-apples coverages on every quote you get. If the quotes have different liability limits it’s not possible to make a fair comparison for your Jaguar XJ-Series.

  • Am I covered if I crash into my own garage door?
  • Am I covered when pulling a rental trailer?
  • If I drive on a suspended license am I covered?

If it’s difficult to answer those questions but a few of them apply, you may need to chat with an agent. Car insurance policy coverages for a 1990 Jaguar XJ-Series

Learning about specific coverages of car insurance helps when choosing the right coverages at the best deductibles and correct limits. The terms used in a policy can be impossible to understand and coverage can change by endorsement. Listed below are typical coverage types offered by car insurance companies.

Auto liability insurance

This will cover damage that occurs to other’s property or people that is your fault. It protects you against claims from other people. Liability doesn’t cover your injuries or vehicle damage.

Split limit liability has three limits of coverage: bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident and property damage. As an example, you may have policy limits of 50/100/50 which means $50,000 in coverage for each person’s injuries, a total of $100,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident, and property damage coverage for $50,000.

Liability can pay for claims such as medical expenses, structural damage and bail bonds. How much coverage you buy is up to you, but it’s cheap coverage so purchase as large an amount as possible.

Insurance for medical payments

Med pay and PIP coverage provide coverage for expenses like ambulance fees, prosthetic devices and nursing services. They are used to cover expenses not covered by your health insurance policy or if you do not have health coverage. It covers both the driver and occupants in addition to being hit by a car walking across the street. PIP coverage is not available in all states but it provides additional coverages not offered by medical payments coverage

Collision coverage protection

This coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage resulting from a collision with an object or car. A deductible applies then the remaining damage will be paid by your insurance company.

Collision can pay for things such as colliding with another moving vehicle, hitting a mailbox, crashing into a ditch, rolling your car and sideswiping another vehicle. Collision is rather expensive coverage, so you might think about dropping it from vehicles that are 8 years or older. Drivers also have the option to bump up the deductible to bring the cost down.

Comprehensive coverage (or Other than Collision)

This coverage pays to fix your vehicle from damage OTHER than collision with another vehicle or object. You first have to pay a deductible then your comprehensive coverage will pay.

Comprehensive coverage pays for claims such as hitting a bird, fire damage and damage from a tornado or hurricane. The maximum payout you’ll receive from a claim is the cash value of the vehicle, so if it’s not worth much more than your deductible it’s not worth carrying full coverage.

Uninsured Motorist or Underinsured Motorist insurance

This coverage provides protection from other drivers when they either have no liability insurance or not enough. It can pay for medical payments for you and your occupants and damage to your 1990 Jaguar XJ-Series.

Due to the fact that many drivers only carry the minimum required liability limits, it doesn’t take a major accident to exceed their coverage limits. So UM/UIM coverage should not be overlooked.
